MassCEC accelerates the most impactful, resilient and cost-effective electrification technologies and approaches to decarbonizing the building sector through the Building Eletrification Transformation Accelerator (BETA) Program, comprised of the following:
Decarbonization Pathways is a MassCEC pilot that seeks to develop and test a home decarbonization assessment for single-family and low-rise (i.e., three stories or less) residential buildings. MassCEC also intends to offer incentives to help participants move forward with some or all of their decarbonization plan.
EmPower Massachusetts is an initiative aimed at the exploration, development, and implementation of program models or projects that provide access to the benefits of clean energy for previously underserved populations in the Commonwealth, including Environmental Justice renters, or communities disproportionately impacted by environemntal hazards.
The Triple Decker Retrofit Pilot is a MassCEC pilot that will offer technical support, incremental financial incentives, and performance monitoring to implement high-efficiency, all-electric retrofits of triple deckers. The pilot will offer incentives to affordable housing and market rate triple deckers retrofitting the existing building or adding an additional unit.
The Triple Decker Design Challenge recieved proposals for replicable and scalable all-electric energy retrofit approaches for existing triple deckers. Proposals either retrofitted a typical triple decker using the existing building square footage or retrofitted a typical triple decker while also adding an additional unit.
