Boston Community Energy Study

MassCEC funded and contributed to the Boston Community Energy Study (2016), which explored the potential for local energy generation, district energy, and microgrids. The Study was a collaboration between The Mayor’s Office of Environment Energy and Open Spaces, the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), MIT Sustainable Design Lab, and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. It identified 40 potential microgrid sites throughout the City of Boston, created interactive maps, and raised awareness about energy infrastructure development opportunities in the city.
