SYSO is seeking a Technical Account Manager to join our dynamic and mission-driven Operations Team. In this role, you will support post-sale client relationships by enabling project deployment, assisting with market enrollment, and providing operational support for client energy assets across North American power markets. You will work closely with senior team members to ensure clients derive measurable value from SYSO’s software and market services.
This role is ideal for a professional with 3-6 years of experience in the energy sector who brings technical acumen, a collaborative mindset, and strong organizational skills. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of energy markets and asset types, contribute to cross-functional execution, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to SYSO clients. A Technical Account Manager will help to grow the business by driving client satisfaction, supporting contract renewals, and identifying opportunities for account expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end deployment and onboarding of SYSO hardware and software systems at client sites, ensuring technical accuracy, timely execution, and full compliance with market rules and client objectives
- Help define and execute asset operating strategies in coordination with senior team members to align with market rules and client operational goals
- Collaborate with internal teams (Energy Markets, Engineering, Sales, and the Network Operations Center) to identify project-specific requirements for new market entry and track deliverables to ensure timely execution of technical and regulatory milestones.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ISO/RTO market processes, including capacity, energy, and ancillary service programs
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of internal documentation, onboarding templates, and client-facing materials
- Provide prompt and professional support to resolve client issues and ensure high levels of satisfaction and engagement
- Support the Business Development team and drive client satisfaction, account retention, and upselling and cross-selling opportunities
Required Qualifications/Skills/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in energy systems, engineering, environmental science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3-6 years of experience in a technical client-facing role within the energy or grid services industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets (e.g., PJM, ISO-NE, CAISO), telemetry standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education:
- Experience in the electrical power industry, including transmission and distribution, centralized and distributed energy resources, energy management and related technologies
- Master's degree in business or technical field; industry certifications
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, or equivalent CRM/project tools
- Experience working in a startup or rapid-growth environment
