This is a unique opportunity for someone with a strong interest in sustainable transportation and fundraising experience to make a lasting impact. The new Executive Director will guide the organization’s next phase, building on past innovative projects and programs in schools, workplaces, and municipalities, and collaborating with a broad range of partners. In addition, they will build on Green Streets Initiative’s 20 year history with our unique fun, innovative, and effective programs that advance the awareness and uptake of active transportation. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Since 2006, we have worked to make communities healthier, more vibrant, and sustainable by encouraging and inspiring people to walk, cycle, train, bus, or use other forms of public transit. 

Green Streets Initiative is entering an exciting new chapter, and we are seeking a part-time Executive Director to lead the way.

The new Executive Director will be expected to work 20–30 hours per week to start, collaborating with the Board of Directors, partners, staff, and interns to oversee the day-to-day operations of Green Streets programs while helping to build toward the organization’s long-term vision. They will also explore and develop potential income streams, including grants, donations, sponsorships, and fee-for-service programs.

Benefits

While the position is initially unpaid, compensation will depend on what direction and income stream the Executive Director and Board together choose to pursue.
