Bluefield Research is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its global consulting team and support the growth of its custom research practice in the Americas region (primarily USA). 

The Senior Consultant takes a lead role in proposal creation, content development, project management, and delivery for a wide variety of project scopes that typically include market sizing, M&A targeting, voice of customer surveys, competitive analysis, commercial due diligence, and channel development.  

Bluefield’s consulting clients span the full range of the water industry value chain, from technology suppliers and engineering firms, to utilities and private equity investors. As a senior consultant, your work will support a wide range of client functions including corporate strategy, business development, marketing, competitive intelligence, and product development.  

This role requires a high level of creative thinking and problem-solving ability, combined with strong interpersonal, administrative, and teamwork skills. This position will work alongside our Research and Commercial Teams as they engage with a growing roster of North America clients and prospects.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage, lead, and execute consulting engagements: collaborating closely with experienced Bluefield colleagues and a range of client profiles (e.g., c-suite executives, product managers, business development teams).
  • Showcase knowledge and thoughtful analysis to clients: Produce data-backed written reports, presentations, webinars, and other mediums that effectively communicate recommendations to senior-level audiences.
  • Support and draft consulting proposals: Tailor engagement proposals and research methodologies to address clients’ specific scopes, questions, timelines, and requirements.   
  • Join a team of water experts: Leverage Bluefield’s wealth of data, analysis, and proprietary insights to deliver value-added support to clients on market sizings, company value chain analysis, and business strategies.
  • Become a thought leader: Support sales team with client visits, conference presentations, and industry events
  • Grow alongside peers: Share lessons learned, experiences, and perspectives with the Bluefield team to enhance research, improve processes, and target opportunities
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree is required; MBA, business degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, market research or B2B consultative role. 
  • Experience within the water, infrastructure, or cleantech sectors is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency with MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with basic business analysis concepts, frameworks and basic corporate finance 
  • A keen attention to detail and highly effective organization skills, including the ability to simultaneously balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Solid presentation skills and ability to communicate easily with clients and executives.
  • Willingness to cover a wide range of tasks as projects require – from collecting data/cold-calling for primary research, to freelance resource recruitment and management.

  • This is a full time position. Open to candidates located in Boston or San Francisco (Bay Area).
