About BlocPower: BlocPower is a a Black-owned, Brooklyn-based climate technology company that focuses on analyzing, financing, and installing efficient and all-electric energy equipment in low-and moderate-income buildings. We have upgraded over 1,200 buildings across NYC, and we have energy efficiency and electrification projects in over 25 U.S. cities.
BlocPower has been in the news recently for winning bids to electrify every building in the cities of Ithaca, NY and Menlo Park, CA by the year 2030. We were also recently ranked as the #4 most innovative company in the world by Fast Company.

Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a dynamic go-getter to help our team run a pilot workforce development program in Boston. The BlocPower Workforce Development Intern will collaborate closely with the Director of Workforce Development to research, identify, and secure job placement opportunities for our program participants, help prepare logistics for our second cohort, and help manage applications for our second cohort.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have academic and/or work experience in the fields of sustainability, engineering, clean tech, environment, economics, business, and/or finance.
Self-starter, looking for opportunities to be proactive and present new ideas
Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision
Entrepreneurial drive and passion for Green/ Technology Space
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Flexible, comfortable with change and ambiguity; team player with, positive attitude
Eager to learn new topics, methods/approaches, and tools through self-learning, observation, resources, discussion with colleagues
Salary: $16.50/hour
The internship start and end date are negotiable for the right candidate for a 12 week period between May 15th – August 31st.
