Future Grid Series
MassCEC / Net Zero Grid / Future Grid Series
Working toward a more flexible, resilient, and equitable future grid.
This grid will support widespread electrification, integrate distributed energy resources, and deliver benefits to all residents and communities. Achieving this vision will require continued coordination, learning, and collaboration across sectors and silos.
Next Future Grid Event coming in Fall 2026!
MassCEC, in partnership with Alliance for Climate Transition (ACT), will continue the "Transitioning to the Future Grid" event series with one event, focused on local grid services in Massachusetts. The event will bring stakeholders together to reflect on grid services-related progress during this Electric Sector Modernization Plan (ESMP) phase, including developments since the Grid Services Study and the launch of utility pilots, and identify opportunities to advance grid services in Massachusetts.
The event will occur in Fall 2026. Details to be announced later in Summer 2026.
About the Future Grid Event Series
Who attends?
The series convenes stakeholders from across the Massachusetts energy ecosystem to explore key grid-related topics, share insights, and develop actionable pathways forward. Participants include public and private sector leaders, advocacy organizations, utilities, technology providers, entrepreneurs, community representatives, and academics.
What's the structure?
Each event combines informational presentations and expert panels with facilitated small-group discussions, enabling participants to exchange perspectives, build relationships, and collaboratively identify challenges, opportunities, and next steps. These conversations are designed to break down silos, elevate diverse perspectives, and support more coordinated progress toward a future grid.
What's the result?
Each event results in a summary report that captures key insights and helps spur future action.
