Please describe the nature of the business or organization
Takachar's mission is to advance climate justice by bringing net-negative manufacturing to rural, underserved communities using locally available labor and resources. Most chemicals and fertilizers that rural communities depend today are manufactured using carbon-intensive processes and then imported from afar. By decentralizing the manufacturing of critical commodities using locally available inputs, we enable these rural communities to reduce the cost and emissions associated with their critical commodities, thereby uniquely advancing climate justice. We have been recognized for our work through awards such as Elon Musk’s XPRIZE Carbon Removal, Prince William’s inaugural Earthshot Prize, and the UNEP Young Champions of the Earth Award 2020.
