Please describe the nature of the business or organization
Green Streets Initiative is a Cambridge, MA-based non-profit organization that works to promote the celebration and use of sustainable, active transportation. Our programs which have historically included monthly "Walk/Ride Days” (begun 2006) and annual workplace-based Commuter Challenge (2012-2019, on hiatus 2020-2021) have inspired people throughout greater Boston and beyond to rethink their commutes and promote conversations about more healthy and sustainable options available to commuters. Catalyzed by the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on work commuting, the ongoing climate crisis, and the recent election of Boston-area leaders who use and understand the need for sustainable transportation, Green Streets is now developing a new program to reach out to the general public and inspire people to choose to use healthy and sustainable transportation options. The momentum is here and Green Streets is excited to help move Boston and other cities further to become even healthier, greener, and more livable.
