The Vice President of Capital Markets will play a key role in driving Sunwealth’s capitalization strategy, working closely with our executive team to identify and close the right investment partners to fuel our growing project pipeline, with a particular focus on tax equity investment.   
 

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

 

  • Partner with the executive team and our senior advisors to identify and source new tax equity investment for Sunwealth’s Solar Impact Fund
  • Oversee and execute on all aspects of the tax equity sales process, from development of strategy, sales tools and collateral through negotiation and closing
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing tax equity partners, including corporations (at the CFO, CIO and Treasurer level), RIAs, tax advisors, family offices and high net worth individuals
  • Manage targeted tax equity leads through the closing process in order to ensure strong relationships and seamless transactions
  • Partner with the Asset Management team to manage relationships with existing tax equity investors and promote repeat investment
  • Identify the right potential investors for cross-selling opportunities (i.e. debt and traditional equity)
  • Position Sunwealth to capitalize on investor demand for climate-focused investments that deliver strong, stable financial returns to investors and communities
  • Collaborate with Sunwealth leadership to develop future tax equity and debt products
  • Oversee tax equity sales meeting and weekly/quarterly/annual reporting metrics
  • Grow and manage an expanding investor development team, playing leadership role in a growing values-driven organization

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • 5 or more years’ experience in capital raising and deal execution; deal experience with tax credits and/or renewable energy industry preferred but not required
  • Well-developed relationship management skills, strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong teamwork and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to independently grow and manage a sophisticated and diverse pipeline of capital providers
  • Proficient with Salesforce and all MS Office programs, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Quick learner with strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving who can master the intricacies of tax equity investment
  • Team player who recognizes learning opportunities and is willing to understand the legal, regulatory and financial perspectives of debt and tax equity investing
  • Desire to take on a key leadership role in in the solar and impact investing ecosystem
