CIMCON is seeking passionate, entrepreneurial and experienced individuals to join our team as a Solutions Technician. The Solutions Technician will support our partners and customers implementing our wireless lighting control and smart city products. As a member of our Customer Success team, the Technician will work hand-in-hand with our engineers to resolve product support inquiries for our customers and to test new products. This is a hands-on position in a quickly growing cleantech startup. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and verify functionality of hardware and software components in person or remotely.
  • Handle customer RMA’s, test units to determine level of failure and record findings
  • Resolve customer product support questions via phone & email/web submission related to installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of systems hardware and software.
  • Assist with the testing of new product development and user acceptance tests
  • Update knowledge base with FAQs and online articles
  • Perform software upgrades where applicable based on CLI or GUI
  • Build and assemble electronic and mechanical prototypes and COTS, demos and road shows
  • Assist with engineering lab building and maintenance
  • Perform electro-mechanical sub-assembly work utilizing basic hand tools
  • Take ownership of issues by carrying out problem resolution from start to finish. Escalating incidents to others when necessary.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience in a similar position
  • Basic Linux shell knowledge, AWS is a plus
  • Basic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and basic electronic test equipment
  • Experience with Freshdesk.com or comparable CRM desired
  • Ability to work independently in high pressure situations
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and determine appropriate course of action based on result
  • Must possess good manual dexterity and ability to multitask effectively
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Some travel may be required.
