Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct on-site energy assessments and analyze the energy performance of commercial and industrial facilities to determine cost-effective energy efficiency upgrades.
    • Perform data management, energy benchmarking, and analysis using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
    • Prepare energy and sustainability performance reports
    • Review calculations and assumptions used to estimate or measure savings due to energy efficiency and green building projects
    • Create energy awareness, outreach, and training materials; and conduct on site meetings and presentations and provide answers to technical and program related questions
    • Write energy project narratives, standard operating procedures, and process descriptions; and collaborate with facility management staff, utility personnel, environmental staff, and other stakeholders
    • Oversee client energy and water efficiency projects (installation and implementation)
    • Conduct inspections to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment and assist with existing building commissioning
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to meet deadlines and client expectations.
    • Develop energy project requests for proposal (RFP) and statements of work (SOW)
    • Train and mentor junior level staff
    • Contribute to business development efforts as an engineering subject matter expert and foster the development of new technical market opportunities as both an internal and external thought leader
Qualifications: 

QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Chemical/Process Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or other Energy/Sustainability-Related Field
    • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or other Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) certifications, preferred
    • ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP)
    • Professional Engineer (PE), preferred

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  •  

Required

  • Experience using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
  • 3-5 years’ experience conducting ASHRAE Level I and II Energy Audits or equivalent
  • Knowledge of building systems, such as lighting, HVAC, energy efficiency technologies, green building and high performance design;
  • Ability to evaluate a wide variety of facilities and systems
  • Project cost estimating experience
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong technical writing
  • Knowledge of building systems, such as lighting, HVAC, energy efficiency technologies, green building and high performance design

Preferred:

  • EDF Climate Corps experience
  • ASHRAE Level III Audit experience
  • Facility Condition Assessment Experience
  • LEED Existing Buildings Operation & Maintenance (EBOM)
  • Familiarity with State Energy Codes and/or ASHRAE 90.1
  • Familiarity with ISO 50001
  • Knowledge of energy modeling software tools such as Trane Trace, eQuest, IES, Sefaira, Energy Plus, Carrier HAP or other design and energy simulation software
  • Proven sales experience and ability to support sales efforts to private equity, real estate, and corporate clients
