National Grid is hiring a Senior Analyst, Performance & Reporting in our Business Planning & Performance Department in Waltham, MA.
 
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Business Planning & Performance, this role provides analytical and organizational support to the Wholesale Networks and US Capital Delivery group (the “Group”). This key role is responsible for, among other things, providing insight on key business issues, executive reporting, and engaging internal stakeholders. This individual will need to understand the key business drivers that impact the business strategy and performance, including financial, regulatory, operational, capital and customer issues.
Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and drive data analytics and performance reporting to support decision making. 
  • Support identification of key performance indicators, setting performance targets, tracking performance, and reporting to executives.
  • Assist executives in the overall delivery of the Group performance and help to manage and coordinate across the organization.
  • Support the process for performance reporting for the US executive board and other key reporting requirements by working collaboratively with colleagues across the organization.  
  • Cultivate successful working relationships with colleagues to ensure consistent operational performance support, especially in key areas such as finance, process, regulatory, policy, strategy, and information systems.  
  • Interface with key stakeholders to provide analytical support and insight to help deliver on: process and performance-based tracking and reporting, financial results consistent with defined targets and key performance indicators, and operational performance consistent with the business metrics and regulatory mandates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or engineering, with an advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, Policy, etc.) and at least 5+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in the energy industry, with transmission knowledge/experience a plus
  • Proven aptitude for leadership and engagement, and the ability to influence others
  • Experience in establishing performance frameworks and metrics reporting and leveraging performance software (e.g., Tableau)
  • Experience in dealing with executives
  • Financial background and acumen a plus
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Experience in working well with teams from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience
