Green Energy Consumers Alliance is seeking a marketing & communications professional to join our team. This position is a full-time position based in our Boston office, 40 hours per week typically from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with occasional nights and weekends.Our marketing & communications team works to create compelling content and strategies that make our programs accessible through a variety of digital, print, and in-person media. The Communications Coordinator will work directly with the Marketing & Communications Director to implement and analyze events and to improve digital marketing. It is crucial that candidates have web analytics, SEO, and/or marketing analysis experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Marketing tasks are as follows:

  • Implementation & analysis of digital marketing pursuits under the guidance of Communications Director, to include: social media, email, and paid advertising
  • Maintenance and optimization of our Hubspot database, including contact list integrity, workflows, prospect conversion, and reports
  • Website analytics via Hubspot and Google Analytics
  • Help strategize to expand our reach to everyone who can benefit from our programs.

Events tasks are as follows:

Book, plan, staff, and manage all aspects of:

  • 3-7 renewable energy tours each year,
  • 2 stakeholder meetings each year,
  • various Electric Vehicle Showcases under the direction of EV Team,
  • various tabling events and sponsorships

Graphic Design management:

  • Oversee design related to email, collateral, social media, special events, and brand. Manage, schedule and assign tasks to designers.
  • Ensure brand integrity in all design work
  • Maintain organized design database in Dropbox

Provide project management guidance to marketing & events interns and junior staff, & other tasks as directed by the Communications Director.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience planning and marketing outdoor events, fundraising events, conferences, or meetings.
  • Experience building custom reports and analyzing website data in Google Analytics, or equivalent experience preparing marketing analysis reports.
  • Friendly personality that will represent the organization in a positive way, in writing and through public speaking.
  • Well organized, excellent attention to detail, and proven ability to manage many different tasks.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience building and analyzing ads with Google Ads.
  • Prior experience managing social media accounts.
  • Prior experience managing teams or projects.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy concepts.
  • Graphic design.
  • Fluency in a second language.
