As the Drone Service Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating data collection processes. You will work with customers and vendors as well as internally with sales and project management. You will be responsible for scheduling drone flights, bidding data collection projects, and holding vendors accountable to quick moving timelines. To be effective in this role, it is critical to have excellent communication skills (both verbally and written), maintain technical excellence with drone equipment and data collection processes. You will have the opportunity to be mobile to explore latest data collection techniques in the field and conduct special purpose flights.
 
Specific interests and talents include, but are not limited to unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), organization of complex systems with many moving parts, and the global transition to renewable energy.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinating and bidding flights for solar farm inspections with drone pilots
  • Providing technical support to drone pilots, both subcontractors and customers
  • Communicating key updates regarding drone flight timelines
  • Maintaining and updating flight guidelines and data requirement documentation, and adding in new material as new hardware becomes available
  • Providing logistical support to ensure proper FAA authorizations are in place to conduct inspections
  • Onboarding and maintaining required documentation, including certificates of insurance, emergency procedures, and pilot contact lists 
Qualifications: 

Requirements/Experience:

  • Hands on experience and expertise flying drones with automated flight planning software
  • Past experience managing subcontractors and project timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. You will be expected to communicate with sub-contractors, customers, as well internal sales and operations teams 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, changing work environment
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred  

 
Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with aerial thermography and solar inspections
  • Experience with solar installation or construction
  • Fluency in a second language
