About the Company:

Air Barrier Solutions, Inc., is a woman-owned business that provides state-of-the-art air leakage detection and building envelope retrofits. We have been solving sick and inefficient building problems with commercial and residential properties since 2006.
PROBLEM SOLVING Sealing the holes and lining up the building’s air and thermal barriers can help solve a host of building problems. These include humidity and bulk moisture issues like mold, mildew and degrading/rotting building components; ice dams; insect infestations; odors; excessive building pressures; uneven heating and cooling and high utility bills. The beauty of our work is that the fixes often pay for themselves over time from lower utility costs.
LOCATIONS AND SERVICES Air Barrier Solutions headquarters are Crown Point, NY, but many of our team members work remotely from North Carolina, or at our temporary job locations as needed.
Our experienced team finds and fixes holes in the buildings’ air barriers or installs building envelope retrofits like high-pressure foam insulation (including on roofs), cellulose insulation, window films, window and door weatherstripping and other air sealing services. All of our projects begin with a state-of-the-art diagnostic evaluation. Customized retrofit plans are developed for each building. The scope of work is implemented by Air Barrier Solution's own crews and project managers, using proprietary quality assurance and measurement & verification methodologies.
We provide air barrier and insulation inspection/audit services, including bulk foam installation, across the U.S. and Canada. Retrofit installation work has so far been focused in New England and the Midwest, with future expansion planned across the country. We have performed comprehensive air sealing retrofits in private facilities, including well-known sporting arenas; all types of municipal buildings, from fire and police departments to schools and offices; university structures including classrooms, dormitories, administrative offices, museums, theaters and other venues; high-rise to garden-style apartments and private and public multi-family housing, including the largest multi-family energy conservation retrofit ever done in New York City. We utilize all ASTM E783, ASTM E779, ASTM E1105 and ASTM E1186 testing methodologies, including blower doors, infrared, tracer smoke, hot-wire anemometer and ultrasound.
