Solarize Salem-Swampscott

The Solarize Mass Salem-Swampscott program was active during Solarize Mass 2013 Round 2 and is now closed. As part of the program, residents and businesses contracted to install 71 solar electricity systems, for a total of 400.21 kW! Salem contracted 35 systems totaling 215.43 kW, and Swampscott contracted 36 systems totaling 184.78 kW.

The purpose of the Solarize Mass Salem-Swampscott program was to increase the adoption of small-scale solar electricity systems through a grassroots educational campaign, driven mainly by town volunteers, and a reduced tiered pricing structure that offered increased savings for everyone as more home and business owners in town signed up. As part of the program the towns of Salem and Swampscott selected installer RGS Energy through a competitive solicitation process.
