In collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER), MassCEC intends to apply for $2.79M in formula funding through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Training for Residential Energy Contractors (TREC) program (formerly known as the Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grant). The deadline for applications for formula funding is January 31, 2024. As part of formalizing an application for the TREC funding, MassCEC is sharing a “strawman” proposal and inviting feedback from all stakeholders on the proposed scope of work. This draft proposal provides a framework for how Massachusetts may utilize the funding to meet or exceed the stated program goals while also supporting the state’s ambitious decarbonization targets.
