The former Revere Copper facility is a 12.5-acre (5 hectare) waterfront property at the northern end of New Bedford Harbor. The Revere Copper facility was a historical copper-rolling mill, and at one time was the largest nonferrous rolling mill in North America, until it closed in 2007 and is currently unused. The site is located outside of the New Bedford-Fairhaven Designated Port Area and north of the maintained navigational channel. The site is 35 nautical miles (65 km) from the leading edge of the offshore wind energy areas south of Martha's Vineyard.
