Our company is growing and currently seeking a Field Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all field operations and overseeing subcontractors at the project site. The Field Supervisor will closely work in direct cooperation with the Office Manager and other team members on the job site to achieve a successful project. 

Field Supervisor is responsible for managing both time and resources to make certain remodeling and maintenance projects are completed on time and on budget. This position is responsible for making sure projects are fully staffed when appropriate and that workers can access tools and building materials. The Field Supervisor is expected to work autonomously to accomplish his/her goals and requires an individual with strong organization, time management skills,  self- motivation, excellent communication skills and a multi tasker

Job Duties/Responsibilities

DAY-TO-DAY

This full-time position typically works Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with occasional later hours

during peak season.

In this Field Supervisor position, you are essential to our operations. Throughout your workday, your

goal is to ensure that each of our commercial and residential painting teams is producing top-quality

results. You do this in a variety of ways. 

First, you ensure that all the new employees have the training they need. 

Next, you check that our workers are outfitted in a professional way and that their attitudes,

skills, and preparedness are up to company standards. 

You also inspect the job site and verify that it and the storage area are clean and organized. 

While doing so, you keep an eye out for ways we can improve our operations. You also focus on safety and verify that all the equipment and tools are compliant with OSHA regulations. Often, you have the chance to interact with our clients and offer them excellent customer service. You enjoy seeing how thrilled they are with the job our crews do. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Educational background, preferably in the fields of construction project management painting, or other specialty trades
  • Proven working experience as a Field Supervisor 
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  •  Ability to lift 50 pounds, spend the day on your feet, and occasionally climb ladders
  •  Current MA driver  license and a clean driving record
  •  Ability to obtain OSHA and RRP certifications if not already certified

 

The ability to speak both English and Spanish and/ or Portuguese would be a plus. Previous performance evaluation experience would also be a plus. The responsibility of the Field Supervisor shall include, but not limited to, the following:
 

What you ll do:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors - subs- for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs 
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors - subs 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Coordinate all construction field activities among subcontractors and other individuals/companies involved with the project.
  • Have a strong knowledge of the Construction Documents and ensure that construction is compliant with these documents.
  • Supervise project safety and ensure all workers on site are complying with safety requirements and the project safety plan.
  • Assess daily staffing of subcontractors and field workforce.
  • Assess sufficient supply of materials and equipment on a daily basis. Track deliveries of materials from vendors to avoid delays and onsite material loss.
  • Participate in developing the project schedule and provide the information needed to create, monitor, and modify the project schedule on a continuing basis.
  • Coordinate with the Field Supervisor to develop and administer the site utilization program, site services, safety plan and security arrangements necessary for the project.
  • Monitor actual versus required performance by all parties and determine whether subcontractors are providing a sufficient workforce and hours of work to achieve performance commitments.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with the requirements of the general contract and ensure that the requirements are being adhered to.
  • Responsible for fieldwork that is performed with a high standard of quality and in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain daily progress reports and conduct weekly job site safety meetings.
Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • 2 years of experience in construction with at least 3 Projects.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a commitment to safety.
  • Must have a professional attitude and outstanding communication skills with the ability to maintain excellent relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, architects and owner representatives.
  • Must have specific knowledge of field supervision for layout, framing, MEP and finish trades.
  • Excellent judgment of drywall, paint and other finish trades relative to construction quality.
  • A thorough knowledge of federal, state and local building codes.
  • Proven track record of safety in conjunction with all OSHA requirements and guidelines.
