DOE has released a FOA for about $5.5 million to increase the availability and use of potential gasoline/ethanol blends up to E85 (85% ethanol) through two Topic Areas: (1) Refueling Infrastructure for Ethanol Blends – cost-shared projects to modify, upgrade, or expand the infrastructure at retail fueling locations to accommodate gasoline-ethanol blends up to E85, and (2) Outreach for Ethanol Blends – projects which will increase public awareness of the benefits, safety, and use of ethanol blends as a transportation fuel. Approximately 15-30 awards of between $50K to $200K will be made for refueling infrastructure projects, and approximately 2-5 awards of between $250K to $1M will be made for outreach projects. The cost share for refueling infrastructure projects is 50% but a lesser cost share may be considered with appropriate justification. Cost sharing for outreach projects is encouraged but not required. Eligible applicants are all types of domestic entities, including companies, non-profits, institutions of higher education, and local and state governments.

  • Application deadline: October 4.
  • The full FOA can be found at  www.fedconnect.net by searching for “DE-FOA-0000125” under “Reference Number.”
