DOE has released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for about $8 million for approximately 5 to 10 awards to support target innovations in both Light Emitting Diodes (LED) and Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED). Applicants should discuss SSL industry relationships, collaborations, or partnerships in order to provide evidence of corporate commitment. The anticipated period of performance is 2 years. The cost share is 20% but 10% may be considered for all applicants and the cost share is waived for Indian tribes or Tribal Energy Resource Development Organizations. Eligible applicants are all types of domestic entities, including companies, non-profits, institutions of higher education, and local and state governments. Other Federal agencies and Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) contractors are not eligible applicants.
