MassCEC is excited to partner with Columbia University’s Center for Climate Change on their Clean Energy Investment Project.  We are thrilled to lend our innovative financing and public-private partnership models to this important effort to break down transactional barriers to United States clean energy investment in India. 

 

 

 

Columbia University’s Center for Climate Change Law intends to facilitate U.S. investments in clean energy projects in India, an estimated $1.1 trillion market. Toward this aim, the Clean Energy Investment project will develop contracts drafted in consultation with leading US and Indian attorneys with expertise in investment, project finance and clean energy. These contract templates aim to become the industry standard and shall be made available online for free-of-charge download. 

The Project will be lead by the Center Director, Prof. Michael Gerrard and Aarthi Anand as Project Director. The Project has already achieved significant milestones, including, raising close to half-a-million dollars as a grant from Sujana Group, one of India’s leading industry houses. The Project is also backed by several law firms, banks, media houses etc. who have agreed to serve as project leaders and collaborators.
