The DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has released a request for Letters of Interest (LOI) for the PV Technology Incubator, which will support accelerated commercialization of solar photovoltaic systems.
This LOI is anticipated to be funded in whole or in part with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The goals of the LOI focus on producing new prototypes and pilot production for the residential rooftop market, the commercial rooftop market, and the utility market. It is anticipated that 6 to 10 subcontracts will be made and that funding for each award will not exceed $3 million for 18-month subcontracts. A minimum of 20% price participation is required. Applicants are restricted to U.S. small businesses. U.S. small businesses, U.S. large businesses, U.S. non-profit organizations, and U.S. higher educational institutions may be subcontractors to the applicant. The due date for the LOI is July 13.
