Market Development and Support Division Fellowship

The Market Development and Support Division Fellow will be a part of the team working to support the growth of the Massachusetts clean energy industry and position the Commonwealth as a global leader in clean energy. Market Development and Support initiatives focus on workforce development, sector development and knowledge development in order to accelerate the success of clean energy companies and projects in Massachusetts,. 

 
The Fellow will assist Division staff by performing research and analysis on specific challenges related to the commercialization of emerging energy technologies and/or existing commercial technologies.  The Fellow will regularly present research results to the team in the form of summary reports (written and oral). The Fellow will go beyond research and analysis and assemble an implementation plan to solve specific challenges.
 
Job Activities:
  • Conduct research on specific topics/issues related to clean energy technology commercialization and reduction of industry market barriers.  Research tasks may include stakeholder interviews and surveys, analysis of best practices, and financial modeling. Use results to recommend solutions and create implementation plans.
  • Participate (with supervisor), as needed, at meetings, roundtables and conferences related to Market Development and Support Division initiatives.
  • Gain experience and familiarity with clean energy industry commercialization lifecycle and challenges.
  • Provide analysis of best practices on a national and global basis.  
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Basic knowledge of energy efficiency and renewables
  • Experience with dealing with the public preferred
  • Ability to meet multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Candidate must be able to occasionally travel in the metropolitan Boston area and, with MassCEC staff, throughout Massachusetts.
 
Education:
  • Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student
