As part of its mission to support clean energy technologies and foster sustainable markets for electricity generated from renewable sources, MassCEC provides financial assistance to individuals who install solar panels and wind turbines at their homes. The following programs are geared towards helping individuals contribute to the Commonwealth’s clean energy future.
Commonwealth Solar
The Commonwealth Solar II Rebate Program provides rebates for the installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems up to 10 kilowatts (kW) and all residential systems (regardless of size), with a rebate calculation capped at 5kW. These rebates are awarded on a rolling basis, through a non-competitive application process. The program is currently funded at $1 million per quarter.
Commonwealth Wind: Micro
Commonwealth Wind’s Micro Wind Initiative provides rebates for the installation of wind projects that are located at residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and public facilities and are less than 100 kilowatts. Eligible systems are supported through a hybrid incentive structure consisting of a combination of installation and production rebates.
