The Production Tracking System is a web-based MassCEC application that tracks the capacity and production of certain renewable energy systems installed across Massachusetts.
Primary Functions
- Provide data to the public about renewable energy systems installed in the Commonwealth to evaluate their performance, ensure the effectiveness the Commonwealth’s renewable energy programs, and promote the growth of the industry in Massachusetts
- Provide owners of renewable energy systems a convenient method for tracking their production and participating in certain Massachusetts clean energy incentive programs, including the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS), the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (APS), and the Clean Peak Standard (CPS)

Data and Reports
Solar PV Systems in Massachusetts is an Excel-based report detailing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed in Massachusetts that are registered in the Production Tracking System (PTS). Data includes project cost, location, panels (modules), inverters, meters and installer information.
For all systems registered for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates, the SREC Capacity Factor Report provides the aggregated ratio of the amount of energy produced to their optimum nameplate (labeled) production capability. The twelve-year (2010 to 2021) average net capacity factor for solar PV systems in Massachusetts is 13.00 percent. Note: This 63 MB Excel file may be slow to download.
